Officers are eligible to take the Corporal Examination after completing their probationary period. The probationary period is 12 months after graduation from the academy. Lateral hires serve a 12 month probationary period from the date of hire. Officers can be promoted to Corporal after three years time in service. Promotion to Corporal results in a 10% increase in salary. Lateral entry candidates may receive increased annual compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications. |
