AIRPORTS AUTHORITY TO TEMPORARILY MOVE SHUTTLE US AIRWAYS CHECK-IN COUNTER TO ACCOMMODATE CHECKPOINT EXPANSION AT RONALD REAGAN WASHINGTON NATIONAL AIRPORT

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority will temporarily relocate the US Airways Shuttle ticket counter to the upper level of Terminal C, adjacent to the current US Airways ticket counter, on December 14, 2004.

The move is part of a construction project to accommodate US Airways' growth at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, and to reduce the processing time at security checkpoints. The North Pier (Gates 35-44) Transportation Security Administration (TSA) checkpoint, which handles most US Airways departures, including all US Airways Shuttle departures, will expand from four to six lanes.

The Airports Authority will construct the two additional security-screening lanes over the next few months.

Shuttle customers can still check in for their flights at the ticket counter at the end of the Metro bridge on the departure level. Self-Service Check-In Kiosks may be used at both ticket counter locations, but those adjacent to the North Pier security checkpoint will be temporarily unavailable. The expanded security facilities are expected to be completed in March 2005.

Customers are encouraged to use online check-in when available, arrive at Reagan National Airport on the Departure/Check-In level, or use the Metro bridge Self-Service Check-In Kiosk when arriving on the Metro or parking in Garage C. Signage will be posted around the airport to advise passengers of these changes.
