Free wireless internet is now available as an added customer service

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority is pleased to announce that wireless internet service is now free at Reagan National and Dulles International Airports. Customers on the go can enjoy a convenient connection from their wireless-enabled laptops or mobile devices. Previously, an access fee was charged to individuals who did not have a subscription with a major wireless carrier. Now, all users who select the Airport’s new free WiFi network can connect to the internet for free.

Airport                          Name of Free WiFi network
            Reagan National            FlyReagan
            Dulles International        FlyDulles

Upon selecting the complimentary airport network, users will see a connectivity “splash” page where they must first click to accept the terms of the free service. This page may include pop-up advertising in the future. The option of selecting a specific provider of paid connectivity will also remain available.

The Airport WiFi equipment was originally activated in 2007 through a consortium of wireless carriers. In response to suggestions from customers, the Airports Authority pursued a new agreement with the carriers to offer WiFi services for free.
