Project Summary:
The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority plans to retain professional Architectural and Engineering (A/E) services for the design of the Master Ventilation Control System for the Automated People Mover (APM) Tunnel Systems at Washington Dulles International Airport.

The Authority has multiple Construction Packages underway for APM system facilities/structures including stations, tunnel segments and a vehicle maintenance facility.  These multiple facilities/structures have been designed with independent ventilation control systems that must now be coordinated and integrated into an overall master ventilation control system for both the initial APM System operation and the multiple phases leading to the completed APM System.  The work shall include developing comprehensive operating and control procedures and designing the technical contract documentation for the integrated software and hardware to be located at the APM Central Control Facility (CCF) and Alternate Central Control Facility (ACCF) and the multiple facilities/structures required for system implementation.  This comprehensive master ventilation control system shall integrate the individual control systems for APM Train Control and the multiple APM Stations and APM Tunnel Segments for initial APM System Operations (Ph I) and the incorporation of Ph II, Ph III and Ph IV as these construction phases are completed.
