Reagan National Airport

  • Most expensive: Washington Flyer Taxi directly from Dulles. Distance is about 30 miles.
  • Less expensive: SuperShuttle shared ride service from Dulles.
  • Less expensive: Take Washington Flyer Coach service from Dulles direct to the West Falls Church Metrorail station.  Then board Metrorail in the direction of New Carrollton.  Change trains at the Rosslyn station to the Blue line towards Reagan National Airport.  The Airport train station is connected to the Terminal.
  • Least expensive: Take Metrobus Route 5A from Dulles to the Rosslyn Metrorail station.  Board a Blue line train towards Reagan National Airport.  The Airport train station is connected to the Terminal.
  • Note: The Airports Authority does not provide a dedicated shuttle between the airports.

BWI (Baltimore Washington Thurgood Marshall) Airport

  • Most expensive: Washington Flyer Taxi directly from Dulles. Distance is about 57 miles.
  • Less expensive: SuperShuttle shared ride service from Dulles.
  • Less expensive: Take Washington Flyer Coach service from Dulles direct to the West Falls Church Metrorail station.  Then board Metrorail in the direction of New Carrollton.  Change trains at the Metro Center station to the Red line towards Union Station. At Union Station, board MARC Commuter Rail to BWI Marshall Rail Station.
  • Least expensive: Take Washington Flyer Coach service from Dulles direct to the West Falls Church Metrorail station.  Then board Metrorail in the direction of New Carrollton.  Change trains at the Gallery Place station to the Green line towards Greenbelt.  At Greenbelt, board Metrobus Route B30 to BWI Airport.

Downtown Washington, DC attractions and Smithsonian Museums

  • Most expensive: Washington Flyer Taxi directly from Dulles.  Distance is about 30 miles.
  • Less expensive: SuperShuttle shared ride service from Dulles.
  • Less expensive: Take Washington Flyer Coach service from Dulles direct to the West Falls Church Metrorail station.  Then board Metrorail in the direction of New Carrollton.  Metrorail provides service throughout downtown Washington, D.C, including the Smithsonian Museums.
  • Least expensive: Take Metrobus Route 5A from Dulles to L'Enfant Plaza, which is located in Washington, D.C. near the L'Enfant Plaza Metrorail station and several downtown Washington Smithsonian Museums.
  • Note: the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum, Udvar-Hazy Center is located near Dulles.  See the next item below for directions.

National Air and Space Museum Udvar-Hazy Center (Dulles Annex)

  • Most expensive: Washington Flyer Taxi directly from Dulles.  Distance is about 4 miles.
  • Least expensive: VRTA Air and Space Museum Shuttle bus directly from Dulles. Proceed to any “Arrivals Door” from Baggage Claim, down the ramp and outside to the second curb. Buses board from the stop located under the red awning at location “2E.”

Virginia Colleges in Harrisonburg, Charlottesville, Blacksburg, Radford

  • Home Ride provides scheduled service between the Vienna Metrorail station and JMU, UVA, VT and Radford on weekends. They leave Vienna metro on Sunday evenings, and depart from the colleges listed above on Friday afternoons. Please contact them on 1-800-553-6644 or visit their website for schedule and ticket information. You can use the Washington Flyer Coach for transportation from Dulles to the West Falls Church Metrorail station. From there, you could ride Metrorail to the Vienna station.
