Dulles and Reagan Announce Latest Round of New Stores and Restaurants

Enhanced Shopping and Dining Options Continue at Washington’s Airports

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport announced the latest wave of new stores and restaurants, part of the multi-year overhaul of nearly all shopping and dining at the two airports. The new offerings at both airports feature better brands and more recognizable restaurants to serve international and domestic travelers alike.

The newest offerings at Reagan National will include freshly prepared Thai and Chinese food at Big Bowl, and Georgetown Gourmet Market, featuring gourmet salads, soups, and sandwiches.

At Dulles International, the new concessions will include quick-serve favorites such as Subway and the return of Five Guys Burgers and Fries, as well as a new restaurant called The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck, a destination for international travelers that reflects classic American cuisine. In addition to enhanced food options, Dulles International will welcome Erwin Pearl, offering fine designer jewelry; Bluwire, specializing in high-end portable technology for travelers; and Stellar News, a travel emporium to meet the last minute needs of international and domestic customers.

This announcement is a continuation of the ongoing innovation of the concessions redevelopment at Reagan National and Dulles International. The Airports Authority maintains web pages with the latest lists of new and upcoming food and retail offerings under construction at Reagan National and Dulles International. The web pages will be regularly updated as construction of new shops and restaurants continue at both airports.

When the Airports Authority’s food and retail redevelopment program is completed, 85 percent of all of the concessions will have been converted or reconstructed. Construction will be carefully managed to have the least impact on airport passengers. As more than 150 new food and retail concepts are constructed, the Airports Authority will add to the number and location of basic passenger services such as electrical outlets and ATMs.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, established in 1987 by the governments of Virginia and the District of Columbia, manages and operates Ronald Reagan Washington National and Washington Dulles International airports, which together serve more than 40 million passengers a year. The Airports Authority also operates and maintains the Dulles Airport Access Road and the Dulles Toll Road and manages construction of the Silver Line project, a 23-mile extension of the Washington region’s Metrorail system into Loudoun County, Virginia. No tax dollars are used to operate the toll road, which is funded by toll revenues, or the airports, which are funded through aircraft landing fees, rents and revenues from concessions. The Silver Line construction is funded by a combination of toll-road revenues, airport contributions and federal, state and local government appropriations. The Airports Authority is led by a 17-member board of directors, appointed by the governors of Virginia, Maryland, the mayor of Washington, D.C., and the president of the United States, and generates more than 387,000 jobs and 4.5 percent of GDP in the National Capital Region.
