The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) Emergency Communications Technicians (ECTs) assist the Police and Fire Departments for Reagan National Airport, Dulles International Airport and the Dulles Toll Road. They are the first people the public contacts when emergency assistance is required. The Public Safety Communications Center (PSCC) is the nerve center for emergency communications. Equipped with the latest technology, our ECTs are more capable than ever to receive emergency calls and dispatch police, fire, and emergency medical support whenever they are needed.

ECTs also monitor the location of emergency services personnel from both airports emergency services departments. These workers dispatch  the appropriate type and number of units in response to calls for assistance. All emergency calls go to the Communications Center, where an MWAA ECT handles the call directly or transfers it to the appropriate jurisdiction.
