Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport Noise Compatibility Study Update


The Airports Authority has completed its update of the Noise Compatibility Study for the Airport. This study, conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) process, Part 150, is designed to forecast future noise contours at Reagan National and to propose abatement and mitigation actions to reduce community noise impacts.

The FAA completed its evaluation of and formally accepted the noise exposure maps for Reagan National on August 6, 2007. The FAA published notice of this action in the Federal Register on August 13, 2007 (Click here for link).With this action, the FAA opens a period for public comments through October 5, 2007. The FAA will complete its review on or before February 2, 2008.
