Dulles Toll Road - Tolls Remain Steady Following Increases in 2013 and 2014

The current toll rates are the result of a public process that took place in 2012. Three public hearings were held in the Dulles Corridor. A 30-day public comment period about proposed toll rate increases along the Dulles Toll Road was open through Sept. 16, 2012. The public hearings were completed, as scheduled. Information and documents from the hearings, including all public comments received, are available online for review. The Dulles Corridor Advisory Committee met and discussed the proposal on Oct. 5, 2012. The Airports Authority Board of Directors met on Nov. 14 and approved toll rates for 2013 and 2014.

At an April 2014 meeting of its board of directors, the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority reiterated its intention to keep toll rates constant through 2018. The announcement was the result of a concerted effort to reduce costs on the Silver Line Project, which is funded in part by tolls, and remains predicated on receipt of a low-interest federal Transportation Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (TIFIA) loan and the previous commitment of $300 million by the Commonwealth of Virginia to off-set toll increases.

Information about future MWAA public hearings about toll rates will be posted here when they are scheduled.
