E. Lynn Hampton Appointed Airports Authority Interim President and CEO

Board Chairman Charles D. Snelling announced today that the Board of Directors has appointed E. Lynn Hampton as the Interim President and Chief Executive Officer of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority effective May 9, 2010. Ms. Hampton has served as the Vice President for Finance and as Chief Financial Officer of the Airports Authority since 1989. Said Mr. Snelling, “Lynn has a comprehensive and institutional overview of the organization, is well respected in the industry and has successfully handled major responsibilities in managing the extensive and complex finances of the Airports Authority. She knows every facet of our business enterprises and we are confident she will provide stability, continuity and proven leadership in this interim appointment.” In accepting this appointment Ms. Hampton said, “I will work with the Board and our excellent staff to keep the Airports Authority on course as the Board finds our next leader.” The Board of Directors will conduct a comprehensive search for the position of President and CEO to succeed James E. Bennett who will retire on May 8, after 14 years of service to the Airports Authority. ###
