Airports Authority Board Elects 2011 Officers

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Board of Directors has elected Charles D. Snelling, Chairman; Leonard Manning, Vice Chairman; and Quince T. Brinkley, Jr., Secretary. Mr. Snelling, has served as Chairman since 2010, and has held the position of Vice Chairman as well as Chairman of the Board’s Planning and Construction, Finance, and Audit Committees. He is an inventor, the holder of 20 patents, a venture capitalist, a real estate developer and an independent businessman. He has founded a number of businesses, most of them in the high-tech area. He currently serves on the boards of the Pennsylvania Society, Cedar Crest College, and the National Museum of Industrial History. He has served on many other boards, including President of the City Council of Allentown, Pennsylvania, the Allentown Art Museum, the Athenaeum of Philadelphia, the Lehigh Valley Hospital, the Lehigh Valley International Airport, the Lehigh Valley United Way, the Antique Boat Museum of Clayton, NY; and is a former Chairman of the Republican Finance Committee of Pennsylvania and a member of the Republican State Committee of Pennsylvania. Mr. Snelling is an appointee of the President of the United States. Mr. Manning currently serves as Chairman of the Board’s Business Administration Committee. He is the Chairman and CEO of Lottery Technology Enterprises, a joint venture that has operated the online lottery for the District of Columbia since 1983. He is also Founder and President of New Tech Games, Inc., a company that provides a range of gaming-related services to states and contractors operating lottery systems and bingo games. Mr. Manning is a former board member of Southeastern University's Center for Entrepreneurship and the Fort Washington Community Hospital. He has also served on the D.C. Convention Center Board, the D.C. Bicentennial Commission, the Greater Southeast Community Hospital Foundation, Washington Urban League, DC Chapter of the NAACP and the D.C. Recreation Wish List Committee. Mr. Manning is an appointee of the Mayor of the District of Columbia. Quince T. Brinkley, Jr., was re-appointed Vice President and Secretary to the Board. The 13-member Board of Directors is appointed by the Governors of Virginia and Maryland, the Mayor of the District of Columbia and the President of the United States. # # #
