The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority provides a new Safety Service Patrol, a free service to assist motorists on the Dulles Toll Road and the Dulles Airport Access Highway.
The Safety Service Patrol is available Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and weekends from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and offers the following services:
- Fixing flat tires
- Providing emergency gas for an empty tank
- Jumpstarting a dead battery
- Removing disabled vehicles from travel lanes
- Assisting with traffic control at accident scenes
Stranded motorists may dial #77 from their mobile phones to request assistance. Virginia State Police established this special phone number for stranded motorists. Calls placed to #77 from the Dulles Toll Road or the Dulles Airport Access Highway will be dispatched to the Airports Authority’s Safety Service Patrol. To help safety patrollers to better locate them, motorists should note the nearest landmark or mile marker when placing the call.
