Airports Authority to Host Seminar About Contracting Opportunities

 Local, Small, Minority and Woman-Owned Businesses Encouraged to Register and Attend  


For the 20th consecutive year, The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority will hold its Annual Business Opportunity Seminar for Local Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (LDBE), Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE), and Minority and Woman-Owned Businesses (MBE/WBE). The Seminar will be held on Thursday, October 14 from 10:00 am until 5:30 pm at the Renaissance Washington, DC Hotel, located at 999 9th Street, NW, Washington, DC. On-site registration will begin at 9:00 am and pre-registration is encouraged at The Seminar will provide information on upcoming contracting opportunities in construction, concessions and goods and services at Reagan National and Dulles airports. In addition to information about contracting directly with the Airports Authority, representatives from prime contractors provide information about subcontracting opportunities with their firm. Airports Authority Purchasing Representatives will also be available to discuss ongoing contract opportunities for suppliers, vendors and service-related companies. Highlights on the agenda will include: • Doing Business with the Airports Authority • Introduction to Vendor Registration and Navigating the Airports Authority’s Website • Information Sessions on the 12-18 Month Forecast of Construction, Goods and Services and Concession Opportunities. • Exhibit Hall Networking The Airports Authority seeks to maximize the opportunity of LDBE, DBE and MBE/WBE participation in competing for Authority-sponsored contracts. So far in 2010 these firms have performed over $90 million in contract activity. * * *
