Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport’s concessions program earned three awards from Airport Retail News’Best Concessions 2000 Poll, including Best Overall Airport Concessions Program. National’s concessions, otherwise known as National Hall, also garnered the top spot for Best Concession Program Design and Airport with the Most Innovative Services. National won three of the five airport awards in the medium airport category. Washington Dulles International Airport won third place in the Best Redeveloped Concessions Program category.

The Best Overall Program award was based on offering a broad variety of concessions with national and local flavor. The Best Design award was given for overall appearance, visibility and accessibility to passengers. The Most Innovative Services award was earned for the range of technology in types of services and the location of services, as well as staff availability and knowledge.

Other airports competing in these categories included Portland, Oregon, Tampa, Newark, LaGuardia, and Ft. Lauderdale, Salt Lake, Oakland, Charlotte Douglas and Nashville.

The Airport Retail News Best Concessions 2000 Poll was voted on by 29 industry experts including airport executives and concessionaires. National Airport has more than 100 shops and restaurants and Dulles more than 50 with a mix of national, local and regional retail and food concessions.
