mwaa.com - 2024 MWAA Small Business University Executive Certificate (Non-Credit) Course Application

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) in partnership with Howard University District of Columbia's Small Business Development Lead Center will deliver the 2024 Small Business University Executive Certificate Program to support its Small Local Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (SLDBE). The purpose of the program is to help advance local businesses from high potential to high growth. The program will take place at the Martin Luther King Jr Library (DC branch) from 10 am – 4 pm every Wednesday starting January 31, 2024 – March 13, 2024. The courses will cover critical topics– including: How to do business with MWAA, Marketing to the Government, Cost Estimation, Financing Growth and Proposal Writing.

Criteria:

Must be a small business
Have been in business for 5 years
A minimum of 2 full-time employees
Annual revenue of $400K
Successfully worked on a minimum of 2 projects in their areas of expertise

The program is free of charge and will be delivered over nine (9) weeks. Participants will commit to 6-hour classroom sessions one day a week. Acceptance and graduation require 100% attendance in the program and a signed agreement to adhere with program guidelines.

Please note, participation requirements allow no more than one excused absence throughout the program. If a small business drops from the certificate program, they will not be allowed to apply for any future MWAA certifications for two years.
