The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) and the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG) invite the public to attend two public meetings on a current noise study being conducted for Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

The purpose of these meetings is to advise the community of the scope of the study and to explain the process for submitting recommendations and suggestions regarding regional aircraft noise.

The Airports Authority has initiated a major update of the Noise Compatibility Study for the Airport. This study, conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Aviation Administration's process, is designed to forecast future noise contours at Reagan National and to examine possible abatement and mitigation actions to reduce community noise impacts.

Because of the importance of this issue to the community, COG's Committee on Noise Abatement and Aviation at National and Dulles Airports (CONAANDA) is partnering with MWAA throughout the process. A Community Advisory Committee has been established to assist and advise the Airports Authority in this study.
