Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Board Chairman Charles D. Snelling, has announced the appointment of Andrew Rountree to the position of Vice President for Finance and Chief Financial Officer for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority. Mr. Rountree has served as Acting Chief Financial Officer since May of this year.

Mr. Rountree joined the Airports Authority’s Office of Finance in 2005, where he oversees the Departments of Accounting and Financial Reporting, Budget (including airline rates and charges), Treasury and Investment Services, and Strategic Financial Analysis (including debt management).

Mr. Rountree served as the Authority’s lead coordinator for Dulles Corridor activities, including the assumption of responsibility for operation of the Dulles Toll Road from the Commonwealth of Virginia, and he continues to lead the financing team for the Dulles Metrorail Project. 

Prior to joining the Airports Authority, Mr. Rountree was appointed as Director of Finance for the City of Richmond, Virginia in September 2000. While with the City of Richmond, he also served as the Deputy Director of Finance, and as the Chief of the License, Assessment, and Tax Audit.

Mr. Rountree began his career with the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Auditor of Public Accounts, the legislatively appointed auditor for the Commonwealth.  He subsequently served as Assistant Controller for the Commonwealth’s former Department of Information Technology.  Mr. Rountree is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a B.S. Economics and concentration in Accounting.  He is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Virginia.
