Veteran expert in accounting, compliance and risk assessment

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority board of directors on Wednesday approved the appointment of Precious Scott as the Authority's new vice president for audit, reporting jointly to the board and CEO Jack Potter.

Scott comes to the Airports Authority with 19 years of experience in managing auditing, corporate governance, risk assessment and compliance across multiple industries and in organizations of varying sizes. She has a proven track record of strengthening internal controls, enhancing regulatory compliance and advising executive leadership and boards with a forward-looking, practical approach to addressing emerging technology, financial, governance and operational issues.

Most recently, Scott served as assistant vice president of compliance at Arch Capital Group, where she led enterprise-wide compliance risk assessments, developed global monitoring and testing programs and advised senior leadership on emerging regulatory risks. Scott is a certified public accountant with a six sigma green belt certification. She holds a bachelor's degree in business from Berea College.
