Today, President George Bush announced that Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport will reopen on Thursday, October 4th.

This is welcome news to the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority and the thousands of individuals who work at Reagan National Airport. We will work with the airlines and the businesses at the Airport to ensure that all the necessary security and operational actions are taken to enable us to return to business as outlined by the President.

Travelers Aid Seeking Volunteers to Assist Dulles Airport Passengers

Dulles, VA -- Travelers Aid Washington DC is looking for volunteers who want to help airline passengers have a smooth trip through Washington Dulles International Airport.

The organization has provided services at both Dulles and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airports for over 35 years. Travelers Aid volunteers provide assistance with general information about the airport facilities, directions to ground transportation, and connect travelers with special assistance if necessary.

Equipment to Assist Cardiac Arrest Victims Installed at Washington’s Airports

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority has recently installed automatic external defibrillator (AED) units throughout the public facilities at Ronald Reagan Washington National and Washington Dulles International Airports. The AED is a life-saving electronic device that delivers an electric shock to the heart to help re-establish normal rhythm during a heart attack. In addition to their use in hospitals and by emergency medical teams, the new generation of defibrillators is now being used by the airlines and in other places where the public gathers.

Dulles International and Reagan National Airports Host Minority and Women-Owned Business Outreach Seminar

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority will sponsor a Small Business Outreach Seminar on Thursday, July 26, 2001 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City. Local entrepreneurs and small business owners are invited to learn about the retail and food & beverage concession opportunities that exist at both airports. Procedures for opening and operating an airport business will be discussed with representatives from the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, Westfield Concession Management, Inc. and HMS Host.

Dulles Moves Up to Fourth Place Among Largest U.S. Transatlantic Gateways

Washington Dulles International Airport now ranks fourth in the nation for transatlantic air service, according to the Official Airline Guide (OAG), for the upcoming summer season.

This significant designation reinforces Dulles’ place among the top airports in the country providing international air service across the Atlantic Ocean and underscores its role as a major gateway to the U.S. from Europe. This is the first time that Dulles has reached the rank of fourth largest transatlantic gateway.

Reagan National Airport Parking Expected to Be Heavily Used Over the Holiday Week

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority is expecting heavy travel during the upcoming holiday period and is urging passengers or those meeting them to call ahead to check on the status of available parking at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

Based on figures compiled last year, parking garages and lots are expected to be heavily used beginning as early as this weekend April 7th and peaking mid-week April 11th.

DC Public Schools Art Exhibition at Reagan Washington National Airport

More than 300 works of art by students in District of Columbia public schools will be on exhibit in Terminal B/C at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport during the month of April. The theme, “Soaring in 2001”, will be reflected in the work from 100 elementary, middle, junior, and senior high schools throughout the city. The exhibition will be on display in the ground level of Terminals B and C where the baggage carousels are located.

Airports Authority Sponsors Job Fair With District Government

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority will sponsor a Job Fair in conjunction with the District of Columbia Department of Employment Services on Tuesday, March 27th.  This event will provide information to District residents about job opportunities at Washington Dulles International and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airports.

 

 

 

The Job Fair will be held at the Sheraton Four Points Hotel at 1201 K Street, N.W. in Washington, D.C., from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
