Alexandria, VA—The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority hosted "Dulles Day" on Saturday, May 30, featuring the biggest "tug of war" in northern Virginia -- the annual PLANE PULL at Washington Dulles International Airport.

Dulles Airport Adds New Parking for Summer Travel Season

Alexandria, VA— Anticipating a busy summer travel season, the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority will open an additional 2,000 parking spaces on Thursday, May 21. This will bring the total number of public parking spaces to 12,117.

"We have seen continuing strong growth at Dulles, and served an additional one million passengers in 1997." said Airports Authority President/CEO James A. Wilding. "This summer will continue that trend so we are expanding our parking supply."

DULLES DAY Set for May 30

Alexandria, VA—The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority will host "Dulles Day" on Saturday, May 30, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., featuring the biggest "tug of war" in northern Virginia -- the annual PLANE PULL at Washington Dulles International Airport.

United Air Lines Launches New Service at Washington Dulles International Evening Service to Meet Passenger Needs

Alexandria, VA— United Airlines announced today plans to begin operating a second schedule of transatlantic evening flights starting on June 10 when new flights will leave Dulles at 9:30 p.m. in route to Frankfurt and Paris. This will expand United Airlines service from Dulles to 69 daily departures.

Washington Dulles Site of Historic International Agreement

Alexandria, VA— On Saturday, March 14th, U.S. Secretary of Transportation Rodney E. Slater and Japanese Minister of Transport Takao Fujii held a ceremony at Washington Dulles International Airport where they signed a Memorandum of Understanding which will allow the two countries to increase aviation travel and commerce.

Washington Region To Benefit From U.S. Japan Aviation Agreement

New York Shuttles Change Location at National Airport

Alexandria, VA— Starting on Sunday, February 1st, the shuttles between New York’s LaGuardia Airport and Washington National Airport will move from Terminal A at National Airport into the new terminal.

Delta Air Lines and US Airways operate shuttles to New York from Washington.

The Delta Shuttle will move to the B Concourse with the other Delta Gates and likewise the US Airways Shuttle will move to the C Concourse and the north pier that houses the US Airways gates.

Dulles Airport Serves A Million More Passengers in 1997

Alexandria, VA— Congressman Frank Wolf, District of Columbia Mayor Marion Barry, Jr., former U.S. Transportation Secretary Elizabeth Dole, and Steve Ridgway, Executive Director of Customer Services for Virgin Atlantic Airways, Ltd., one of the international airlines that will operate from the new concourse when it opens on February lst, will join hundreds of invited guests and officials from the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority at a dedication luncheon in the new Midfield Concourse B at Washington Dulles International Airport at noon on Wednesday, January 28.
