Historic Site At Airport Open to Travelers And Public

Alexandria, VA— Next time you travel through Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport or meet someone there, take a look at the results of several unique historic preservation projects now on view for travelers and members of the public.

The projects include the site of a former Colonial plantation called Abingdon, which was the home of George Washington's granddaughter and other prominent families in the Washington and Virginia area.

Traveling Over the Holidays? Airport Tips

Thanksgiving week, and the holiday season which follows, are expected to bring more travelers to Ronald Reagan Washington National and Washington Dulles International Airports. The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority is offering travel advice to area residents.

"The holiday season brings more crowded conditions to our airports so it may be wise to allow extra time for parking and check-in to ensure a smooth trip," says Airports Authority President/CEO James A. Wilding.

Public Hearings Set on National Airport Taxicab Service

Alexandria, VA— The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority has set the dates for two public hearings on proposed improvements to taxicab service at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. The hearings will be held on Tuesday, September 15, in Virginia and Wednesday, September 16, in the District of Columbia.

Alexandria, VA— The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority will offer its 9th Annual Business Opportunity Seminar for Local Disadvantaged Enterprises, Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, and Minority and Women Owned Businesses on Thursday, October 29, 1998. The Airports Authority operates Washington Dulles International and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airports.

The Seminar will be held from Noon until 5:00 p.m. at the Sheraton Crystal City Hotel located at 1800 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, VA.

Dulles Airport Expands Parking - Opens New Economy Lot

Alexandria, VA— The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority will open over 1,300 parking spaces in a new Gold Economy Lot at Washington Dulles International Airport on November 3, 1998. This brings the total number of spaces at Dulles to over 13,500.

"With this addition, we have added more than 3,400 new parking spaces at Dulles this year," said Airports Authority President/CEO James A. Wilding. "We recognize the need for parking at Dulles as new air service is added and passenger numbers increase."

Alexandria, VA—The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority has added two new air cargo publications to its official web site, www.metwashairports.com. The 1998 Washington Dulles World Cargo Center Directory and Users Guide; and Gateway, the Airports Authority's official cargo newsletter.

New Terminal at National Garners Real Estate Award

Alexandria, VA— The Washington Business Journal has recognized the new terminal at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport as the overall "Best Real Estate Deal of 1997" in the Washington Metropolitan region.
