Airport Community Police Academy Announcement

Fall 2021

 

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police Department will host our 5th  Airport Community Police Academy fall session beginning on Monday, September 20, 2021, and concluding on Monday, November 15, 2021. The training sessions will take place on Monday evenings (except for holidays) from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, Terminal A, Historic Lobby, Conference Room A. 

 

This training opportunity allows our community members to become familiar with our police department. All classes will be taught by law enforcement officers who are experts in their fields. Topics include:  K-9 Explosive Detection, Internal Affairs, Criminal Investigations, Special Response, Evidence Collection and much more. The goal of the Airport Community Police Academy is to build on the positive relations established between the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police Department and the communities we serve. 

 

The Airport Community Police Academy is free to participants. Attendees must be at least 18 years old and pass a background check. Participants must be willing to commit to attending the three-hour session each Monday. Participation requires the full 8-week commitment for successful completion of the program.
