The National Cherry Blossom Festival honors the 1912 gift of 3,000 cherry trees from Tokyo’s Mayor Yukio Ozaki to Washington, DC—a lasting symbol of friendship between the United States and Japan. This beloved annual celebration transforms the Nation’s Capital with four weeks of breathtaking blooms, cultural events, and unforgettable experiences. The festival this year is from Friday, March 20 - Sunday, April 12, 2026.
