The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority board of directors elected Mark Uncapher to serve as its chairperson and Alex Vogel to serve as vice chairperson for 2026 at its November 19 meeting. The board also re-elected Felice C. Smith as vice president and secretary to the Airports Authority. All three will serve one-year terms in office beginning in January.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority welcomed Christopher D. Bell on July 16, 2025, to its board of directors for a six-year term.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority welcomes Samuel Epps IV and Jonathan Burks for six-year terms as new members of its board of directors. Epps is an appointee of Maryland Gov. Wes Moore, and Burks is an appointee of Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin. 

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority board of directors voted to approve the selection of Felice C. Smith as the Airports Authority’s vice president and secretary at a special meeting Wednesday. The board’s action will become effective on March 10. 

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority board of directors elected Thorn Pozen to serve as its chairperson and Mark Uncapher to serve as vice chairperson for 2024 at its meeting Wednesday. The board also re-elected Monica Hargrove as secretary to the Airports Authority. All three will serve one-year terms in office beginning in January.

Taylor Chess has joined the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority board of directors. He is an appointee of the governor of Virginia for a term expiring in November 2026. 

Michele Hagans has joined the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority board of directors. She is appointee of the mayor of the District of Columbia. 

During its proceedings Wednesday, the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority board of directors welcomed new director Brett Gibson of Virginia and paid tribute to Warner Session, whose final term representing the District of Columbia will end on January 5, 2023.  

Sean Burton has joined the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority board of directors. He is the federal nominee to the Board and was appointed by President Biden and confirmed by the U.S. Senate.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority board of directors, at its meeting Wednesday, approved a land lease adjacent to the future Loudoun Gateway Metrorail station along Route 606 as part of Phase 2 of the construction of the Silver Line project.

Robert Lazaro and David Speck have joined the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority board of directors. Lazaro and Speck are appointees of the Governor of Virginia.
