With passenger activity levels rising in 2023, the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority is preparing for significant travel through Washington’s airports in the coming weeks. During peak times around holidays from Veterans Day through New Year's Day, passengers may experience heavily congested airport-area roads, limited parking availability and bustling terminals. The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority is gearing up for a busy holiday travel season between Thanksgiving and the New Year at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport, with passenger traffic approaching pre-pandemic levels not seen since 2019.
