‘Tis the season for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority to host local students as they perform jingles during our annual holiday concert series at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport. Bells will ring at our airports throughout December as these area schools perform for the enjoyment of the traveling public.
Area students will deck the halls of Washington Dulles International and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airports for their sixth annual tree trimming celebration. School children from the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia will decorate trees with “Home for the Holidays” theme-related ornaments, which will be on display for passengers and visitors to enjoy during the month of December. Last year, more than 250 students from local schools participated in the “Celebrate the Holidays on Candy Lane” themed tree trimming at both airports.
The Honorable Elaine McConnell has joined the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Board of Directors, following her appointment by Virginia Governor Robert F. McDonnell. McConnell, a former Member of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, represented the Springfield Magisterial District for 24 years.
A native of Jacksonville, Florida, McConnell and her husband, Warren “Mac” McConnell and their three children, moved to Fairfax County in 1961.
The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Board of Directors has reelected Michael Curto as its Chairman and reelected the Honorable Thomas Davis III as Vice Chairman and Quince T. Brinkley, Jr. as Secretary for 2013.
The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority will debut two new exhibits at Dulles International and Reagan National airports as part of its Arts Program.
