Leaders of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority and the Taoyuan International Airport Corporation met Thursday in Taipei, Taiwan, to sign an agreement promoting travel connectivity between Washington, D.C., and Taipei. Washington is the largest passenger revenue market currently without a non-stop international flight to Taiwan-Taoyuan International Airport (TPE).

Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority staff and special guests gathered Friday, June 2, at Dulles International Airport to celebrate as ITA and WestJet made their debut as new carriers with flights from Washington to Rome and Washington to Calgary, respectively.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority announced Tuesday that Norse Atlantic Airways will commence new, low-price, nonstop service between London’s Gatwick International Airport (LGW) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) on June 1, 2023. Flights will operate daily except Tuesdays. Passengers on the new route will travel aboard Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft configured to carry 338 passengers in Economy and Premium Economy cabins.
