The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Department will be hosting an Outreach Information Session in relation to an upcoming contracting opportunity for Refuse Remobal and Recycling Services at Ronald Reagan Washington National and Washington Dulles International Airports. The purpose of this event is to:
The Contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, materials, tools, equipment and supervision to provide various crushed stone products for use in the maintenance of existing facilities at Washington Dulles International Airport. The stockpiles of material must be located within a 10 mile radius of the Main Terminal at Dulles Airport and will be picked up by MWAA staff on an as-needed basis.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority’s top priority is the safety and security of all people on airport property. To ensure no disruptions to airport operations and to accommodate limited public assemblies on airport property, the Airports Authority has issues a series of regulations and rules that address demonstrations, the distribution of materials, the solicitation of money and similar gatherings and activities on the airports.

The following contractors have been debarred from doing business with the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority in accordance with Chapter 9 of the Airports Authority's Contracting Manual. These firms are excluded from all contracting and subcontracting with the Airports Authority for the specified period of time listed.
Currently Debarred Contractors
LDBE, DBE, MBE, and WBE firms interested in a particular contracting opportunity with the Authority are encouraged to obtain a copy of the Planholders List associated with that opportunity. A Planholders List is a listing of the firms that have obtained the solicitation documents for a particular project. This list will include the name, address, telephone number and contact person's name for each firm listed. The Procurement and Contracts Department maintains a Planholders List for each project where plans are made available to the contracting community.
Overview
Complete electronic documents for most Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority solicitations are available for download from the Airports Authority website free of charge. The primary exception are larger construction projects where the drawings and specifications are issued on CD-ROM.
The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority's Procurement and Contracts Department uses simplified acquisition procedures for procurements which are estimated not to exceed $25,000.
Competition guidelines are as follows: $2,500 and less – non-competitive, as long as the Purchasing Agent considers price to be reasonable $2,500 through $25,000 – minimum of three (3) sources, if available
Mission
The Authority is a public body politic and corporate, created with the consent of the Congress of the United States by the District of Columbia Regional Airports Authority Act of 1985, as amended, and Ch. 598, Virginia Acts of Assembly of 1985, as amended. The purpose of this entity is to plan, provide and actively manage world class access to the global aviation system in a way that anticipates and serves the needs of the National Capital area.
