Project on Track for November Completion Following Additional Testing and Project Work

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority announced Monday that additional tests are needed on Phase 1 of the Silver Line, focusing on software updates related to the Automatic Train Control System, before the project can be turned over to the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority.

Below is a statement from the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority regarding the status of construction on Phase 1 of the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project. "The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority and the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority have concluded a review of the Silver Line Phase 1 Substantial Completion Submission from Dulles Transit Partners, and determined the contractor has not yet met the contract requirements for substantial completion.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority announced its concurrence Thursday with an April 9 Declaration of Substantial Completion for Phase 1 of the Silver Line Project to extend the Washington region’s Metrorail public transit system.
