Virginia Mandate Requires Face Coverings for All Passengers and Employees to Help Reduce Transmission of COVID-19

Information session to describe Environmental Assessment for new concourse, airport people mover system and other projects  

Alexandria, VA— On Saturday, March 14th, U.S. Secretary of Transportation Rodney E. Slater and Japanese Minister of Transport Takao Fujii held a ceremony at Washington Dulles International Airport where they signed a Memorandum of Understanding which will allow the two countries to increase aviation travel and commerce.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority announced today that Swiss International Air Lines will begin new nonstop service between Zurich (ZRH) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) on April 1, 2024. Flights will operate daily during the summer and 5x/week in the winter. Passengers on this new route will travel aboard an Airbus 330-300 aircraft featuring first, business and economy class cabins.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority today released the 2009 passenger statistics for Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport. Together, Washington’s airports served more than 40 million passengers last year.

On Wednesday, March 29, the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Business Administration Committee selected the contractor to provide taxicab service at Washington Dulles International Airport. Dulles Taxi Systems, Inc. of Arlington, VA was selected. The company will begin operating taxi service this Spring. The three-year contract has a single two-year renewal option. Approximately one out of five passengers at Washington Dulles International Airport uses a taxicab. This represents nearly 1.5 million passengers every year.

At a ribbon-cutting on Monday, executives of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, Capital One and the José Andrés Group and Fraport USA celebrated the opening of the Capital One Landing, a 5,500-square-foot airport experience in Terminal 2 at Reagan National Airport. Designed in collaboration with Michelin starred Chef José Andrés, Capital One Landing draws on the success of the “industry-leading food and beverage programming” found across the Capital One Lounge network, along with the expertise and partnership with the José Andrés Group.
