The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority opens a second new parking garage at Washington Dulles International Airport on April 15th, 2003.
This is the second garage opened at the Airport and is located directly across the main entrance to the Terminal. There are approximately 3,600 parking spaces in Daily Garage 2, and 4,600 spaces will be added with the opening of Daily Garage 1.
Dulles Airport Nationally-Recognized For Outstanding Snow Removal Operations

Washington Dulles International Airport was recognized for its efforts in maintaining a safe and operational airport during the recent winter. The airport was the recipient of the 2003 Balchen/Post Award of Outstanding Achievement in Airport Snow and Ice Control at the 37th Annual International Aviation Snow Symposium on May 7th in Buffalo, N.Y.
The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority will close one of the three runways at Washington Dulles International Airport in order to complete a major pavement reconstruction project this summer. Beginning Monday, April 19, 2004, Runway 12-30, the east-west runway, will close until construction is completed this summer.
Washington Dulles International Airport opened a new covered bridge from Daily Garage 2 to the Terminal on Tuesday, May 11th.
"This newly-enclosed walkway will give our customers a direct connection to the Terminal and protect them from the elements," said President/CEO James E. Bennett of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority. "Now both of our garages have convenient and enclosed walkways to the Terminal."

The Dulles Corridor Advisory Committee is an eight member committee that advises the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority on issues related to the management, improvement and expansion of the Dulles Corridor, as well as future changes to toll rates on the Dulles Toll Road to fund roadway improvements and the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project.
