Construction of Dulles Parking Garages Requires Change in Terminal Parking Lot

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority has awarded a $95 million contract to Turner Construction Company to build two parking garages at Washington Dulles International Airport. These garages, totaling 2.7 million square feet, will be the first ever constructed at the airport. They will be located close to the Terminal and will provide over 8,400 covered parking spaces. The garages are scheduled to open in 2002.

At the monthly board meeting today, Carolyn Boone Lewis was elected as incoming Chairman and Norman M. Glasgow, Jr. was elected Vice Chairman. Gregory Wolfe was re-elected as Secretary and Counsellor to the Board. They will assume these positions on January 1, 2001.
