DC Public Schools Art Exhibition at Reagan Washington National Airport

More than 300 works of art by students in District of Columbia public schools will be on exhibit in Terminal B/C at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport during the month of April. The theme, “Soaring in 2001”, will be reflected in the work from 100 elementary, middle, junior, and senior high schools throughout the city. The exhibition will be on display in the ground level of Terminals B and C where the baggage carousels are located.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority has recently installed automatic external defibrillator (AED) units throughout the public facilities at Ronald Reagan Washington National and Washington Dulles International Airports. The AED is a life-saving electronic device that delivers an electric shock to the heart to help re-establish normal rhythm during a heart attack. In addition to their use in hospitals and by emergency medical teams, the new generation of defibrillators is now being used by the airlines and in other places where the public gathers.

Airports Authority Board Re-Elects Officers

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Board of Directors has elected its officers for 2002. At the monthly board meeting yesterday, Carolyn Boone Lewis was re-elected as Chairman and Norman M. Glasgow, Jr. was re-elected Vice Chairman. Gregory Wolfe was also re-elected as Secretary and Counsellor to the Board. Ms. Lewis was elected as Chairman of the Authority last year. She has been a member of the Board of Directors since 1995. She was appointed by the Mayor of the District of Columbia.
