NEW SECURITY SCREENING PROCEDURES FOR PASSENGERS AT REAGAN NATIONAL AIRPORT

Beginning on Tuesday, July 15th all passengers flying out of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport will now be required by the Transportation Security Administration to show a boarding pass and photo identification at the security screening checkpoints. This requirement is already in place at Washington Dulles International Airport and many airports across the country as the TSA implements new security requirements.

Emergency Exercise at Reagan National Airport this Saturday, September 18

 The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority will conduct an emergency exercise at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport on Saturday, September 18 from 9 a.m. to approximately 11 a.m. A river rescue exercise, featuring rescue boats and individuals being pulled from the Potomac River will also be part of the exercise. A simulated aircraft accident will test the Airport’s emergency operations plan and provide hands-on training to airport and mutual aid emergency response personnel.

Pet Relief Areas Provide Enhanced Service to Airport Travelers at Dulles and Reagan Nationa

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority has opened several “pet relief areas” at Ronald Reagan Washington National and Washington Dulles International Airports. These areas give travelers a new option when their pet or service animal needs a bathroom break while at the airport. The typical layout of each pet relief area at Dulles includes a mockup of a fire hydrant placed on artificial “K-9 grass” in a fenced-in area. The grass was developed to be paw-friendly to our four-legged friends and easy to maintain.

The exhibit “America!” focuses on panoramic landscape scenes from around the nation taken by members of the American Society of Photographers. “America!” will be on display until April 30, 2013, in the Gateway Gallery at Washington Dulles International Airport (in the connecting walkway between the AeroTrain C-Gates and the C Concourse).
