Airports Authority Congratulates Anthony Foxx On Confirmation as U.S. Secretary of Transportation

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority issued the following statement congratulating Anthony Foxx on his confirmation as the next U.S. Secretary of Transportation:
“The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority congratulates Anthony Foxx on his confirmation. We look forward to working with him as we pursue world-class travel opportunities for the National Capital region and to secure TIFIA loan financing for the Metrorail to Dulles project.”
The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (the Authority) has established fees for the use of our facilities as a location or background for commercial photography or video, motion picture, and television filming. The Authority has also established policies related to insurance, “hold harmless” agreements, and security that are a prerequisite for obtaining permission for filming and photography activities.

Full-Scale Emergency Preparedness Exercise at Reagan National Airport on Saturday, Sept. 21

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport will hold an emergency preparedness exercise on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 8:30 a.m. to approximately noon. A simulated aircraft accident will test the airport’s emergency response while providing hands-on training to airport and airline staff, hospitals, local jurisdictions and other emergency personnel. During the exercise, emergency personnel will respond as in a real emergency, including the use of sirens, firefighting equipment and helicopters.
