Public Information Workshops to be held on proposed design updates to Phase 2 of the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority will hold two public information workshops to update the public on the latest design plans for the 11.6 mile section of Phase 2 of the Dulles Metrorail Project which will be built from Wiehle Avenue on the eastern edge of Reston in Fairfax County to Route 772 in Ashburn in eastern Loudoun County. Information will be provided on the six future Metrorail stations in Phase 2, including an alternative option for the Washington Dulles International Airport station.

Mr. Snelling, has served as Chairman since 2010, and has held the position of Vice Chairman as well as Chairman of the Board’s Planning and Construction, Finance, and Audit Committees. He is an inventor, the holder of 20 patents, a venture capitalist, a real estate developer and an independent businessman.

Pet Relief Areas Provide Enhanced Service to Airport Travelers at Dulles and Reagan Nationa

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority has opened several “pet relief areas” at Ronald Reagan Washington National and Washington Dulles International Airports. These areas give travelers a new option when their pet or service animal needs a bathroom break while at the airport. The typical layout of each pet relief area at Dulles includes a mockup of a fire hydrant placed on artificial “K-9 grass” in a fenced-in area. The grass was developed to be paw-friendly to our four-legged friends and easy to maintain.

Emergency Preparedness Exercise At Dulles Airport on Saturday, May 8

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority is conducting an emergency preparedness exercise at Washington Dulles International Airport on Saturday, May 8 from 9 a.m. to approximately 12 noon. This simulated aircraft accident will test the Airport’s emergency operations plan and provide hands-on training to airport and mutual aid emergency response personnel. The exercise will not affect normal airport operations. PLEASE NOTE: There will be numerous emergency vehicles operating in the area of Routes 28 and 50 near Dulles Airport on Saturday morning, and smoke may be visible.
