The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority proposed new regulations Wednesday that would better incorporate companies such as Uber and Lyft into the ground transportation operations at Washington Dulles International Airport and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. The proposal, which better aligns these ground transportation options with the requirements on other services operating at the airports, is the first step in a formal public comment process that will lead to a revised code of regulations for ground transportation at the airports.

After an extensive public search, the board of directors of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, on May 20, approved the selection of Derric A. Gregory Sr. as the Authority’s vice president of Audit. “Derric brings more than 20 years of audit management and accounting experience from the public and private sectors,” said Jack Potter, president and CEO of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority. “We look forward to his using this extensive experience to contribute to the overall success of the Airports Authority.”

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority on Thursday announced an early step toward the potential development of a new hotel near the main terminal of Washington Dulles International Airport. The process, which began with a “request for information” to gather ideas and gauge interest from real estate developers and the hospitality industry, is seeking  input on the possible development of three sites – one adjacent to the terminal building, and two larger sites within a two-to-five minute drive from the terminal.
