Dulles International Airport’s popular “Valet Your Way” parking service reopened at Dulles International Airport on April 11. Curbside drop-off is open daily from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m., and vehicles can still be dropped off outside those hours at the Valet Service Center located steps away from the terminal. 

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority is preparing for a busy spring and summer travel season at Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD).

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority announced Tuesday that Norse Atlantic Airways will commence new, low-price, nonstop service between London’s Gatwick International Airport (LGW) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) on June 1, 2023. Flights will operate daily except Tuesdays. Passengers on the new route will travel aboard Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft configured to carry 338 passengers in Economy and Premium Economy cabins. 

Michele Hagans has joined the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority board of directors. She is appointee of the mayor of the District of Columbia. 

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority announced Monday that WestJet Airlines will begin new nonstop service between Calgary International Airport (YYC) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) on June 2, 2023. Flights will initially operate three times a week through October 2023. Passengers on this new route will travel aboard a Boeing 737-800 aircraft.    

Starting March 1, 2023, drivers will no longer need to stop at a toll booth on the Dulles Toll Road as it debuts a pay-by-plate toll payment system for motorists not using E-ZPass or similar payment devices.

For families setting off for adventures from the D.C. region, the fun starts at Reagan National Airport, where a new children's playspace will pique pre-flight imagination. National Children’s Museum—a learn-through-play institution in downtown Washington, D.C., that sparks curiosity through science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) exhibits and programs—has partnered with the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) and The Boeing Company to open Curiosity Runway, a children’s playspace inside of Reagan National Airport.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority announced an agreement with American Express to construct and open its 16th Centurion® Lounge at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. This agreement will be administered by MarketPlace Development, the contractor overseeing the concessions program at Reagan National on behalf of the Airports Authority. 

  

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority announced Thursday that ITA Airways will commence new, nonstop service between Rome’s Fiumicino International Airport (FCO) and Dulles International Airport (IAD) on June 2, 2023. Flights will initially operate five times a week before shifting to daily service on August 1, 2023. Passengers on this new route will travel aboard Airbus A330-neo aircraft. 

During its proceedings Wednesday, the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority board of directors welcomed new director Brett Gibson of Virginia and paid tribute to Warner Session, whose final term representing the District of Columbia will end on January 5, 2023.  

Davis retired from the Airports Authority in September 2021, after serving seven years as the organization’s second-highest-ranking executive officer.
