ITA Airways to Launch New Nonstop Service From Dulles International to Rome

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority announced Thursday that ITA Airways will commence new, nonstop service between Rome’s Fiumicino International Airport (FCO) and Dulles International Airport (IAD) on June 2, 2023. Flights will initially operate five times a week before shifting to daily service on August 1, 2023. Passengers on this new route will travel aboard Airbus A330-neo aircraft.

Dulles Toll Road Rates Will Rise in 2023

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority board of directors voted Wednesday to increase rates for two-axle vehicles on the Dulles Toll Road from the current $3.25 to $4.00 at the main toll plaza and from $1.50 to $2.00 on ramps. The increase, which has been discussed at previous board meetings, becomes effective January 1, 2023.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority officially welcomed Metrorail to Dulles International Airport on Tuesday, marking the completion of a major two-phase Silver Line construction project to extend rail service to Dulles and 10 other stations in Fairfax and Loudoun counties in Northern Virginia. With the new service, airport passengers and employees now can take Metrorail directly to Dulles from downtown Washington and other points throughout the region.
